The story begins with a question and a bouquet.
As María & Michaël planned their first date in person, after months of zoom dates and phone calls, Michaël asked María what her favorite color was, and she replied, "Sunset!" Having received rigorous training in the sciences, Michaël replied, "That's not a color!' But María's answer remained unchanged, and the challenge was set. After getting negative covid-tests, they met in person on February 7, 2021, to enjoy gelato and watch a sunset in Malibu. María was delighted by the appearance of a bouquet so large that Michael's head appeared to be swimming amid a sea of roses. Red, pink, orange, yellow, and white coming together to form the colors of the sunset! Not too bad for a first date! :)
Since that day, María and Michaël have been blessed with the love that God gifted them for each other. Through joy, laughter, sadness, tears, loss, and renewed life, their love has blossomed little by little day after day. Until a fateful day, in the same place where they shared their first date in Malibu, Michaël asked the question, María answered yes, and the one ring was set in place. For the will of the ring could not be undone!

A Romance In Bloom
Staying six feet apart was out of the question.
So we got ourselves tested because we weren't playin'!
We quickly bonded over our love of archeology, history, and culture. We shared our first museum visit at the Autry Museum of the American West as soon as it re-opened to the public.
All The Places We Will Go
The dreams of trees unfold with an embrace. And we further fell in love with each other as we explored our shared love of the natural world.
We traveled to see the wonders of Mexico's
history at the Museo Nacional de Antropología
and for Michaël to meet María's family.
We found the time to support our local American Football team. Even if the rules remain mysterious to us to this day. Go Rams!
Being of French and Mexican descent, we quickly found that much of our relationship rotated around gastronomy. All you need is love and tacos!
